As a client of Nova Cura Land Design you will benefit from many years of combined experience and learning in the agriculture, horticulture, permaculture and landscape design industries, which have culminated in a strong focus on sustainable, environmentally friendly landscapes. These systems do not just provide self reliance and food security, but are also a great way to sustain local wildlife.
If you are looking to create food forests, vegetable gardens, permaculture homesteads or urban edible landscapes please contact Nova Cura Land Design.
The on-site services are available in the the Counties of Shelburne, Yarmouth and Queens, Nova Scotia.
The on-site process starts with an in-person consultation to determine what the best approach is for your unique situation. There is a fee for this portion which is determined by your location, after which you'll be provided with a price to complete the entire design process.
For clients in areas further afield there is the online option, which requires the client to provide measurements, survey, videos, photographs and any other pertinent information to complete the project. All meetings will be completed virtually, starting with a consultation, structured the same as noted above.
You will receive the best possible guidance for your specific project thanks to the described years of experience coupled with vast plant knowledge, a thorough understanding of plants' requirements and healthy soil building practices.

Your Landscape Design process starts with an on-site consultation if you are located in Shelburne, Yarmouth or Queens county, NS. For everyone else there is the virtual option.
Fees for the consultation portion will depend on your location and approximate time required. Please send an email to find out more.
During this initial meeting we will discuss your wishes and requirements for the site, and many notes will be taken to ensure accuracy and a final result you'll be pleased with.
After the initial meeting is completed you will be provided with the fee for the design portion, and if you're agreeable we'll proceed to the design phase. Images of preferred garden styles or layouts are very helpful to this process, as are surveys, measurements and pictures of the site, if available.
Most landscape designs are created using Dynascape software, the industry leader in landscape design software. Some very small projects may only require a hand drawn sketch during the consultation. The approach depends on the requirements of each individual client.
Once the Landscape Design is completed and everything is finalized you will receive to-scale AutoCAD based drawings in black & white as well as in colour, along with a detailed plant list, site specific recommendations and a colour plant catalogue.
You'll also receive PDF files of the Landscape Design so you can have extra copies printed, or to use to send off to installers for quoting purposes.
(Virtual design customers will receive only the PDF design files and notes.)
Please send an inquiry for more information.
Permaculture is the practice of creating a permanent, ideally self-sustaining, systems of edible, medicinal and otherwise useful or edible plants, integrated with animals, water and other elements required for its longevity and diversity.
Each element plays an integral role in the system, working together in as many ways as possible, benefiting the system as a whole.
It has become extremely apparent that rising food costs and food supply insecurity are a reality we have to face daily.
Due to this insecurity there has been a insurgence of interest in turning available outdoor spaces into productive systems that will aid in our sustenance.
At Nova Cura Land Design you'll find a passion to aid as many people as possible in setting up their own food systems, no matter the size of their property or where they reside.
Permaculture Designs often include suggestions for swales, ponds, water harvesting, food forests, edible landscapes, and many more details to help you get started. Some plans take many years to fully implement, but it should all start with a good design. It will save you much aggravation (and money!) in the long run.
The same process is used for this service as outlined for the Landscape Design Services.
Please reach out if you're interested in learning more about Permaculture and setting up a Consultation.
For those of you not in need of a full design, but simply looking for some guidance we offer the Consultation Services option, which is a one-time visit (or for some customers once-annually) during which we will discuss your wants and needs for your property, and come up with solutions particular to your site's specific conditions and challenges.
Many of us want to refresh our existing gardens, and all we need is a bit of help to get started. This service is perfect for those situations.
At the end of the consultation you will be provided with notes and suggestions that you can use to make the appropriate updates or changes to your gardens.
Consultation is an integral part of the services offered at Nova Cura Land Design, enabling us to connect and exchange ideas and viewpoints so we can determine what is possible or needed for your site.
Fees for this service are dependent on your location and time required for the consultation.
Please send us a message for pricing information.
